Who We Are

TEC represents a coalition of schools in the Orthodox Jewish community, with thousands of students in TEC schools.

Our mission is to safeguard Torah education, by advocating on behalf of the schools within our sector and highlighting a proud heritage of traditional Jewish education in the UK that has produced generations of successful, respectful Jewish children, contributing to British society.

Our advocacy work is currently focused on Ofsted’s interpretation of Protected Characteristics. This is a live issue and we want to ensure that any resolution works for our schools and those who follow our Rabbinic leadership.

At the same time, the TEC is working to highlight best practice in our Orthodox Jewish schools to policy-makers, in particular demonstrating our schools’ commitment to safeguarding and anti-bullying.
